First Steps in PDF Accessibility with PAC
Wednesday 17 January 2024 at 3 pm CET
To be completely transparent here: I do think this online event is in German only. It’s a 30-minute session about how to check PDFs with the PDF Accessibility Checker (hence the name PAC), according to PDF/UA and WCAG compliance.

Every month the Hassell Inclusion Foundation hosts a free webinar on rotating accessibility topics. This month’s abstract:
Why more and more companies are committing to accessibility – what benefits are they expecting?
What the best are doing to deliver to their accessibility commitments in an efficient way
How accessibility can work to reduce anxiety & support vulnerable users, and older people
International law changes and their impact on accessibility delivery and procurement - the European Accessibility Act and much more
Changes in accessibility standards and guidelines and their impact on accessibility – including WCAG 2.2 and WCAG 3.0
Accessibility & AI – the opportunities and threats here, not just in automated accessibility testing
How accessibility is being supported for new categories of device – VR, AR, voice-first apps, EVs and more
What this all means for organizations - how keeping up with best practice in accessibility can maximize what you win from accessibility in 2024, and minimize its costs to you

Bonus Accessibility Resources
I’d also like to recommend the Learn Accessibility course by Web.dev. It’s more thorough than just an introduction. When if you already know a quite bit about accessibility, I think you would still benefit from glancing over it. The course is geared towards developers, but even with my UX design background, it helped me understand how accessibility pops up constantly through the whole process, from design to testing.
If you have any remarks or just cool accessibility-related stuff you want to share, please do not hesitate to email it to me!
