Manual Testing for Accessibility Enhancement
Thursday 26 June, 05:00 – 06:00 PM (GMT+2)
Focus: Screen Reader (VoiceOver on MacOS), semantic HTML and ARIA
Target audience: Everyone (Project Managers, Designers), especially Developers and Testers
Manual testing is simply the be-all and end-all of making a website and web application accessible. It also clearly shows the skills of designers and developers, whether they really understand the website they have created and the tools they are using. If not, there is only one way: Improve to become an Accessibility Master.
During the webinar, Julia Undeutsch will show you how to use a screen reader, what to look out for when using it, and how to find and fix errors. Afterwards, you'll hardly be able to wait to browse the next page with a screen reader. Julia will also show that not everything works the way you thought it would, even though you wrote the code exactly according to the documentation.
Recording, transcripts, slides, and articles can be found afterwards on the event page and on Accessibility First.

Deaf Careers allows employers to post BSL video job descriptions, helping Deaf job seekers access clear, equal information. It’s designed by a Deaf person, for Deaf users, with a focus on accessibility and representation. The goal is simple but powerful: to highlight Deaf talent, remove barriers, and shift attitudes around inclusion in the workplace.
