Digital Accessibility: Thinking Beyond WCAG and Compliance
Thursday 6th, 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM CET
This meetup will be held at U.S. 8 AM Pacific, which is 10 AM U.S. Central, 4 PM in the UK, and 8:30 PM IST.
Move beyond mere WCAG compliance to create genuinely accessible digital experiences. While WCAG provides an essential baseline, focusing solely on checklists can limit meaningful user impact. By understanding the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities - such as ADHD, dyslexia, or color blindness - organizations can innovate accessibility solutions that are perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. How do we strive for genuine accessibility efforts instead of performative actions, prioritizing user benefits over optics? Beyond benefitting users, investing in accessibility fosters innovation, expands market reach, and enhances brand loyalty.

Debunking Accessibility Myths
Thursday 27, 4 PM UK time
During that time, we've had to debunk many accessibility 'myths' in the minds of many people in organizations we work with, whether they're Developers, Content Authors, Designers, Testers, or Procurement Managers.
All of these myths hold people back from doing accessibility well, or even doing it at all. Some myths have been around for as long as we have (e.g. websites can be 100% accessible). Others are more recent (e.g. AI tools can fix accessibility).
So, in this webinar, Hassell Inclusion will be sharing their favorite accessibility myths and how to combat them, including;
PDFS aren't accessible
ARIA fixes everything
Audits should be done just before the launch
Personas are great for testing
WCAG is the law
